Why can’t we be friends of JustBleed.com?

You can!  I’m trying to find people who run their own sites and want to share links.  I’m starting up a “Friends of JustBleed” section on the site and want to share space with you.  I will have to see your site to make sure it’s legit, no spam sites or anything like that will be accepted.  Fight industry related only (boxing, mma, etc).  If you’re interested, please follow this link let me know.

A good read on Shane Carwin

Shawn over at Fightlinker.com has a nice post about Shane Carwin that you should take a minute to read.  It’s an insightful read, but also a quick read, so even the laziest of you bastards can still enjoy it.  Check it out here.

Introducing Gay Guard Mousassy

OK, it’s time for another romoshop and this one rules.  Now, I must avoid Gegard for the rest of my life after posting this, unless I want to die early…  click here to see the horror.

UFC attempts to remove Fedor from #1

The recent move by the UFC to scrap the Shane Carwin vs. Cain Velasquez fight and make them both contenders for the company’s heavyweight title is an attempt to remove Fedor from the number 1 position he currently holds in the majority of rankings. If Brock fights and beats both Carwin (ranked #5) and Velasquez (currently #11, but could win another fight before then and be ranked in the top 10) over the next six to eight months, it’s likely Brock will be ranked the worlds top heavyweight.  I would put money on this happening, but Shane Carwin will be an interesting fight for Brock so it’s a risky move by Dana and company.  I like it.

RawVegas.tv – Randy Couture Interview

Bully Beatdown Season 2

One of the only good things about MTV, and season 2 looks like even more fun with bigger MMA names behind it, like Andrei Arlovski. And having Jason Miller host it is pure genius. The guy does a great job.

Need a design for your fight related company?

Hire me!  I’m pimping myself like a shameless hooker here.  I did this poster design for some Kaitlin Young fans a couple of years ago.  It was done without her permission to show support for her fight with Gina.  No money was made or exchanged hands.  We were the fans.  The photo was used from her myspace page, so it wasn’t the best of quality, but I really dig the design and I would love to do this for someone in the fight industry and make some money together.  I know I can bring some fantastic designs to someone that needs it.  I promise you will see my devotion to both design and fight sports in every project.

I’m currently a designer in the TV News industry (10 years), and have a great amount of work I’ve done over the past decade to show as a portfolio.  Just like everyone though, it’s not my dream job.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great job and I do love it and the people I work with, but ultimately I would like to work for myself and work in the industry I have been around my whole life.  So please, if you need anything done, shoot me an email and let’s talk.  If you live in the Central Florida area, I can even meet you in person and we can do business face to face, if you feel more comfortably doing that.  Actually, I will even fly out to meet you anywhere in the world, if you’re serious about work.

About Loretta Hunt’s Prediction

Now, let’s talk about reality. Whether people like it or not, Gina Carano is going to have an influential role in not only the shaping of women’s MMA, but in the direction of the sport as a whole.

I guarantee you she will single-handedly garner more press and media attention than UFC 100. Just wait and see. The interest Gina generates will turn a whole new section of fans onto Strikeforce and MMA, and I wholeheartedly believe we will be watching Carano, Robbie Lawler, Jake Shields, and the rest of Strikeforce’s expanding stable on CBS by January 2010.

OK, she was wrong, big deal. She was giving her opinion, it was a response to a readers email.

It makes me wonder though, and I’m just spit balling ideas here, but it makes me wonder if she just got caught up in the moment? Here she is, a woman covering a sport for many years that is generally dominated by men (especially when she got started), getting pumped up for the biggest womans fight in MMA history. Could you blame her? And isn’t that one of the bigger issues here, the advancement of women’s MMA?

Like I said earlier, I don’t know the answer here and it’s really not that big of a deal. If you want to bag on some asshole for making shitty predictions, you’ve come to the right site. Just read some of my stuff.  But It’s interesting to get Loretta’s thoughts on the sport and where she see’s things, because of her experience.  And when she makes bold predictions like that, you can see the fan in her coming out. It was her vision of the current landscape.   She’s a fan at heart, and it was that fan with years of experience responding to another fans email.  Loretta and Dana are probably more alike than either one of them would like to admit.
